Our Story

DogBase was founded by Almog Koren, a SAR dog handler, competitive dog sports participant, and former military member. Together with co-founder Ordan Gilboa and co-founder Lincoln Rychecky, DogBase was created from real-world experience and a deep commitment to advancing working dogs.

The idea for DogBase began during a difficult chapter in Almog’s life. After being diagnosed with life-threatening kidney failure and undergoing dialysis, he began training Echo, a puppy who would become his service dog. Through that journey, he developed a deeper understanding of the extraordinary capabilities of working dogs and the systems required to train them effectively.

While continuing SAR training and dog sports, it became clear that the industry lacked modern tools for tracking training, performance, and operational readiness. Paper logs and fragmented systems made it difficult for teams to maintain structure and long-term insight.
